When LogForMe misbehaves. Problems grouped by feature.
Login & auth
I'm not getting the verification email
- Check spam / junk / promotions.
- Wait a minute - email is sometimes queued.
- Make sure the email address was typed correctly (
@gmal.comvs.@gmail.comis a common one). - On the verification screen, wait 60 seconds, then click Resend.
- Still nothing after 5 minutes? Email
operations@logforme.com.
"Too many login attempts"
We rate-limit to prevent brute-force attacks. Wait a few minutes and try again.
If you legitimately forgot your password, use Forgot password on the login screen instead of guessing.
Password reset email never arrives
- Same checks as verification emails above.
- Note: the reset link is valid for only 60 minutes, they won't work after that. If you wait longer, request a new one.
I got locked out / my account seems deleted
Email operations@logforme.com with the email address on the account. .
App won't load
Blank page after login
- Hard-refresh:
Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+R. - Try an incognito/private window - rules out browser extensions.
- Check the browser console for errors (F12) and include them in a support email if the issue persists.
Old version of the app
The app is a PWA with a service worker. After an update, you may see an old version until the service worker refreshes.
- Hard-refresh twice.
- Or clear site data: browser settings → Site settings →
app.logforme.com→ Clear data.
Stopwatch
Stopwatch shows 0:00:00 when I come back
The stopwatch stores state in browser IndexedDB (via LocalForage). It's per-browser, per-device.
- If you used a different browser or device, the stopwatch starts fresh.
- If you cleared your browser's site data, the persisted state is gone.
Verbal entries (AI)
"Could not access microphone"
Browser-level permission issue.
- Chrome/Edge: click the lock icon in the URL bar → Site settings → Microphone → Allow.
- Firefox: lock icon → Permissions → Use the microphone → Allow.
- Safari: Safari menu → Settings → Websites → Microphone → find the site → Allow.
After fixing permissions, reload the page.
"AI ERROR: ..."
Something went wrong on the backend or AI Generation. You'll find the error details displayed within your screen. If it includes details about your entry, it's mostly because your data was not complete enough to create an entry.
If the issue is not clear and it persists, email support with the time, date, and rough content of the recording (we do not store your recordings).
"Rate limit reached"
You've hit your daily AI call limit. Reset at UTC midnight.
- Starter: 10/day.
- Premium: 20/day.
Upgrade to Premium if this is a regular problem, or log entries manually / with the stopwatch until your quota resets.
Recording auto-stops when I'm not done
LogForMe auto-stops after 2 seconds of silence. If you need to pause while thinking, either:
- Make continuous "uhhhh" noise (not elegant, but works).
- Plan what you're going to say before pressing record.
- Type the entry instead - sometimes that's just faster anyway.
Invoices
"Get Invoice" button is grayed out
Time Frame isn't set to Done. Change its status via the edit dialog.
Invoice PDF looks outdated
Regenerate the invoice. The old PDF may be stale.
Taxes on the invoice don't match what I expected
- Check the Time Frame's Taxes section - only checked taxes are applied.
- Check each Tax's Compound and Inclusive flags. See taxes.md for how they interact.
- Regenerate the invoice after any tax edits - the current PDF won't update on its own.
Wrong currency or rate
- The invoice uses the Time Frame's
currencyandhourly rate, not your account defaults. Edit the Time Frame. - Regenerate the invoice to apply the changes.
Data & display
Table shows "No data" when I know there's data
You might be on the wrong tab of the table. Check the filter tabs.
Language & theme
Billing
Charge on my card from "LEMONSQUEEZY"
That's us - LemonSqueezy is our Merchant of Record, and that's how charges show up on statements. Your real receipt (with LogForMe branding) comes via email.
Refund request
Email operations@logforme.com. We issue a LemonSqueezy refund, which then processes in 3–10 business days.
When to contact support
If the above didn't help, email operations@logforme.com with:
- What you were trying to do.
- What happened instead.
- Screenshots (if visual).
- Browser and OS version.
- The URL you were on.
Usually under 48-hour response time. It's a solo operation - a little patience helps.
